SEKU Vice Chancellor prof. Eng. Douglas Shetanda, DR. Benjamin Muli and SEKU students visit Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of applied sciences, Troisdorf, Germany.
They were received by Prof. Ralf Schlauderer who emphasized on the need to bridge the gap between Universities and the farmers. He also emphasized on the need to bridge the gap between Universities and the industry.
Prof. Schlauderer further explained why it was necessary for HSWT to collaborate with rural-based African Universities like SEKU and JOOUST. It was emphasized that the need for University rankings has pushed universities from the farmers and that there was an urgent need for Universities to go back to the farmers.
While in Germany, SEKU fraternity also met with the Kenyan ambassador to Germany ms. Orina who thanked the HSWT president for the continued collaboration with African Universities. She emphasized the need for mechanization to improve African Agriculture. The ambassador further reiterated that Agriculture was an important pillar for Kenya鈥檚 development and that the government was keen to have impactful partnerships.
