- Developing research proposals to attract grants to support graduate students and staff development as well as improving on the existing body of knowledge.

5. ASSISTANT CLINICAL OFFICER GRADE 9 (FORMERLY GRADE 7) - REF: SEKU/ADV/AD/4/07/2025- 1 POSITION.
- Duties and responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities entail assisting in:
- Examining, diagnosing and treating outpatients in the health unit at the University in order to make proper diagnosis and provide curative intervention.
- Advising patients on all prevention measures against diseases in order to reduce morbidity and mortality.
- Organizing and participating in practical health education and immunization as well as family planning clinics in order to provide awareness and uptake of immunization and reproductive health services.
- Responsible for health unit supplies and liaise with other sections for procurement in order to avoid stock outs.
- Collecting medical data that will help in health services planning.
- Undertaking administrative responsibilities in conjunction with the Head of Department in order to improve provision of clinical services.
- Advising and issuing diet and sick leave certificates on direction of Head of Department to provide quick recovery.
- Responsible in conjunction with Head of Department for mobilizing Health of staff in case of epidemic and health emergencies.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Medical Officer in-charge.
